I love reading. Except sometimes I go through phases where I forget that and don’t read anything for a long time. During my recovery, my mum had bought me the Kindle version of Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. I finally got around to picking it up and OH MY GOD I’M SO GLAD I DID!
I don’t want to get into too many details about this book. It’s a bit complicated for awhile (especially since I didn’t know what it was about at all when I started reading it), and trying to explain it gives away too much of the plot (I think). Basically, it’s about a bunch of kindergarten moms in Australia and how crazy they can be. They’re also perfect looking and as the reader, you get to watch them unravel. Oh, and there’s a murder!
I totally reccommed this one! Check it out! I’ll be checking out her other books ASAP!
I participate in something called Influenster, where, based on my social media “influence”, I am sent products to test and review for free. It’s pretty fun, since they base the products on what my social media activity reports about me. Recently, I was asked to participate in the Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne System “Vox Box”. I said YES YES YES since I’m always looking for a new product to help out my face.
So, I was supposed to try the entire system out for 30 days. Supposedly, you start seeing results in 7 days. Well, I saw results alright. HORRIBLE results. I actually had to stop after 6 days, because my face feels like it’s burning off.
Let me back up. The system includes a face wash, toner, spot treatment, and moisturizer. I have the sensitive skin kit. At the beginning of this trial, I was having a horrible breakout, so I figured it would be the perfect time to start. However, everything seem to burn my skin and then the spot treatment ended up completely drying out my ENTIRE face. The moisturizer didn’t seem to do much of anything.
I am severly disappointed. I don’t have that crazy of sensitive skin so I was geuninely surprised that my face reacted so horribly to it. The texture of my skin is terrible right now; it feels scaly. On the bright side, my breakouts have cleared up, but I just have other breakouts happening instead.
Day 1 and Day 6. Meh.
To be fair, maybe it would work better for someone else, but not for me. I’m going to stick to my LUSH Ultrabland for my face for awhile.
